I-J-2-h. MARY ELIZABETH SIBERT (b. 1899), daughter of Major General William Luther Sibert4 (William3, David2, John David1)

Mary Elizabeth Sibert was born on 18 August 1899 in Fort Totten, Long Island, New York. [1][2] She married Edmund Sewall Smith, Jr. on 14 September 1933 in Plattsburgh County, New York state. [3] Sewall was born on 26 July 1904 in Niagara Falls, New York. [4][5, mother's maiden name Day] He died of a stroke on 27 December 1988, aged 84, in the Alta Bates Hospital in Berkeley, Alameda County, California. [5][6]

Mary applied for a passport to go on a three-month tour of Italy, France, Switzerland, Belgium, and England, leaving on 18 June 1921. [1]

Mary attended Mount Holyoke College. [1] Sewall received his undergraduate and master's degrees from Cornell. [6]

According to the census, in 1940, Sewall, aged 35, and Marion, aged 40, lived at 4847 Lewiston Road in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, New York with their [possibly living] daughter and a nurse. Sewall was an architect. [7]

According to Sewall's 14 February 1942 draft registration card, Sewall and Mary lived at 4847 Lewiston Road in Niagara Falls. [4]

In 1950, E. Sewall, aged 45, and Mary, aged 50, lived in Contra Costa County, California with two [possibly living[ children. [7]

Sewall Smith was an architect. He invented a board game called Boom! Or Golden Age! Eleanor Roosevelt commented on it, "If it will help peace, I am sure we will play it every day of the week." [8]

According to his obituary, Sewall was a "colorful local artist, writer and architect. He left a son and daughter. [6]
